Dear _______________:

I am a Smithtown resident as well as a boater. For years, the channel leading out to Smithtown Bay has become increasingly more difficult to transit.

The health and safety of myself and my family are now at risk in the event of any emergency if we are out in the Bay or Sound during low-tide periods.

We need the Channel to be dredged as soon as possible! As the Chairman of the Dredge Project Screening Committee, your support and assistance is needed to make this happen.

Sincerely yours,

Dear _______________:

If I am out in Smithtown Bay during a low-tide period and something happens to me or my family, how are any emergency personnel supposed to reach me when you can't get a boat out through the Channel because of the low-water?

This Channel should be dredged now in order to protect our health and safety. As the Chairman of the Dredge Project Screening Committee, your support and assistance is needed to make this happen.

Sincerely yours,

Dear _______________:

I have been a boater for over ______ years and every year the Channel leading out to Smithtown Bay gets worse. For a couple of hours either side of dead low-tide, the channel is all but impassable!

God forbid we have some sort of medical emergency while out in the Bay or Sound; by the time the Bay Constable gets out, it might be too late. This is a totally unacceptable threat to public health and safety. Please advocate on our behalf to have the Channel dredged as soon as possible. As the Chairman of the Dredge Project Screening Committee, your support and assistance is needed to make this happen.

Sincerely yours,
